Epsom and Ewell High School has been celebrating this morning after receiving “record” GCSE results.

67 per cent of students at the school, in Ruxley Lane, West Ewell, achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and mathematics and 90 per cent achieved 5 or more A* to Cs across all their subjects.

Alex Russell, headteacher, said: “This is particularly pleasing given the all within the new exam landscape.

“We are extremely pleased that 20 per cent of grades were at A* or A.

“This is testimony to the hard work and application of the staff and students at the school.

“Special congratulations go to Kanya Mazibuko, Ksenia Eremina, Natasha Anjoree and Dani-Mai Barton who got A* and As across the board.”
