Expensive tools stolen from Cobham lock up

Tools worth £18,000 have been stolen from storage huts and containers in Cobham.

Thieves forced open a gate to get into the site in Beechwood Drive, before breaking into a hut and damaging padlocks to get into three metal storage containers.

A large number of items, including an angle grinder, cordless drills, several sanders, six Stihl trimmers, a hedge trimmer and a leaf blower, were stolen.

The incident took place at some point between 4.05pm and Tuesday, January 24, and 8.30am on Wednesday, January 25.

Detective Constable Chris Ewan said: “This was a well-planned burglary from a secluded rural location where the offenders have made off with a large number of expensive items of equipment.

“Given the number of items taken I think it is highly likely that more than one offender took part in this burglary and they almost certainly would have needed some form of transport to move the equipment and tools.”
