Umbrellas at the ready as a band of locally heavy rain will move slowly across the capital today.

There may be some early bright spells, but generally this morning will be cloudy and breezy, with a chance of occasional light rain.

From late morning rain, locally heavy, will move slowly east across London although not reaching Kent. The maximum temperature will be 13C.

This evening the rain is expected to persist but dry and largely clear conditions will follow during the night- it will become quite chilly with a minimum temperature of 2C.

Wednesday is expected to be dry and sunny but chilly at first.

It will remain cloudier further east, especially for Surrey, Kent and East Sussex, with residual overnight rain gradually clearing. There will be a maximum temperature of 10C.

Thursday’s early light rain will clear away to sunshine and isolated showers.

Friday will be cloudy, mild, with outbreaks of rain.

Saturday’s early rain will give way to mainly dry, but colder, conditions.
