Elmbridge is getting a change to its bin service from next month that residents need to be aware of.
Amey will run the collection for Joint Waste Solutions, formed by the combination of Elmbridge’s service with three other councils in Surrey, from June 3.
The combination will save around £2.5 million a year.
While the bins will still be emptied on the same day, there are some small changes.
The collections will now begin earlier, so your rubbish, recycling and food waste bins should be left out from 6.30am.
Your bins might be collected at a different time of day.
A separate vehicle will collect your food waste, meaning it will be emptied at a different time to your rubbish or recycling bin.
There will be more announcements later in the year from Joint Waste Solutions, including about improvements to the current recycling service.
