A CAMPAIGN kickstarted to include Esher, Hersham and Walton in London’s zone 6 has received more than 700 signatures in two days.
The petition, launched by Leona Varley on Change.org, asks for the three stations to be included in London’s outer fare zone for trains and buses.
Commuters and travellers would be able to use Oyster cards on journeys between these stations and London if the calls were approved.
The three Elmbridge stations would join Surbiton, up the line, in Zone 6. But residents and politicians have campaigned for years for that station itself to be moved into Zone 5.
It would save commuters hundreds of pounds a year, but the potential loss to South West Trains has been the stumbling block.
