A woman has been left "frightened and shaken" after a "despicable" attempted sexual assault in Cobham.

The woman, in her 40s, was attacked in the early hours of Sunday, May 22.

She was walking down the alleyway between Hamilton Avenue and Coveham Crescent when a man pulled her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her.

The attacker fled in the direction of Coveham Crescent when the woman began to scream, Surrey Police said.

Detective Constable Rebecca Mason said: "This was a despicable act which has left a woman frightened and shaken and I am urging anybody with any information to contact police immediately.

"Thankfully the man fled from the scene before causing any further harm to the victim but the outcome could have been very different.”
