A man was allegedly attacked with a wine glass following an argument in a Walton wine bar.

The victim was left with a cut to his cheek after the alleged assault in Morts Wine Bar in Bridge Street on Saturday, June 27.

The argument took place sometime between 12.40am and 1am before a man is thought to have attacked the victim with a broken wine glass. The injured man was taken to St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, where he was treated for the cut and released later that day.

The suspect is of a tanned or Mediterranean appearance, about 40-years-old, between 5ft 11in and 6ft, large build, with a shaved head and a beard. He was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with black lines and dark trousers.

Detective Constable Ben Kirby said: "We have carried out a number of enquiries but although there were several people in the wine bar at the time, no one appears to have actually witnessed the assault take place.

"We would like to speak to anyone with any information which could help us piece together what happened, and ensure that the offender is brought to justice."
