A Weybridge pupil dubbed Britain's Mozart has written a symphony for a 45-piece orchestra in three weeks.

Shane Thomas, 15, completed the feat in Manchester on Friday, June 5, performing the score live with the orchestra in front of 700 people.

On top of this, the student at St George's College released his debut album full of original compositions, Note My Dream, last Monday, which is available on iTunes.

He said: "It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’ve really enjoyed the challenge.

"It was really exciting and everyone said how much they enjoyed it. It’s been a brilliant week with my album released as well - it’s a dream come true.

"All I’ve ever wanted to do is make music and to finally get the chance to release an album and get my music out there is just fantastic."

Shane began playing the piano at the age of seven, after begging his father to buy him an instrument, and could play almost instantly by ear. His gift for music allows him to recite classical masterpieces on the piano after one listen.

At 10 years old he became the youngest person in history to be signed to EMI and received a scholarship to St George's College.

He is hosting his own show, An Evening with Shane Thomas, at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking, on June 27. For tickets go to atgtickets.com/shows/shane-thomas/new-victoria-theatre.
