An architect who allegedly raped a woman he met on a dating app, told police he was “addicted to first dates” and was talking to 35 girls and in sexual relationships with six at the time, a court heard.

Adam Leheup, 34, a technical co -ordinator on the £500m Nine Elms Point development in Wandsworth Road, Lambeth, pleaded not guilty to raping the 25-year-old and sexually assaulting her at her Camden flat in 2013.

Mr Leheup, of Mayfield Road, Hersham, described himself as a “fun guy, a kind guy” and met the woman on Let’s Date and they began their evening under the clock at Waterloo station on July 9, 2013, Blackfriars Crown Court heard during the trial, which began on Monday, April 13.

He said he bought a return ticket to Walton, where he lived at the time, and did not intend to stay in London that night.

During the course of the evening of July 9, 2013, they had two bottles of wine at Gordon's Wine Bar, Embankment, before moving on to Opal Bar, the court heard on Tuesday.

The suggestion to go to Camden next meant Mr Leheup would miss his last train home. He told police when interviewed, he asked if he could stay, and the woman agreed.

Prosecutor Ish Sheikh told the court the woman made it clear nothing would happen. Mr Leheup said when giving evidence on Wednesday, April 15: “She said ‘it doesn’t mean anything is going to happen, I’m not that type of girl’.”

They went to a second bar, Joe's, in Camden.

In police interview, Mr Leheup said the pair were outside kissing and he was “constantly touching her up”. He told the court she seemed OK with it.

Ronnie Jaffa, defending, showed the court CCTV from the inside of the bar which saw both with their arms around each other and touching while ordering drinks.

The jury was told the pair returned to the woman's flat in the early hours after buying burritos. The woman alleges he got into bed with her naked and insisted on having sex, despite her shouting ‘no’.

He said she was responding to his advances, letting him take off her bra and massage her back with oil.

The court heard once in bed, he started kissing her and got on top of her. Mr Sheikh said the woman shouted no and asked him to stop.

He is alleged to have touched her before partial intercourse occurred briefly. She managed to get away and asked why he had done it after she said ‘no’.

He told police they had got into bed, she had taken off her jogging bottoms and “I get on top of her kissing and I’m now gyrating and everything. I’m naked, she’s naked and the end of my penis has hit something, but it doesn’t penetrate”.

Mr Leheup told police the woman said stop and he rolled away before she got up and said “this isn’t even me”.

The court heard she told him he could still stay but her flatmates came up to the room and said he should leave.

They threatened to call the police and left the room. After smoking on the balcony, Mr Leheup climbed down some scaffolding. He was arrested on his way to the underground station and later told police he has a passion for parkour and when he saw the scaffolding thought it would be the “fun way down”.

The jury was told the complainant told police, Mr Leheup said to her: “Girls say no, but they don’t mean it.”

Swabs were taken from Mr Leheup and the complainant for DNA analysis but were never sent for testing.

The trail continues.
