Elmbridge Youth Support Services (EYSS) have received the largest grant to date from Walton Charity for the new Work Experience Project for vulnerable young people.
EYSS work with susceptible young people, some aged between 16 and 19 and the new project aims to move young people into education, employment or training.
Nick Charalambous, north-east area manager at Youth Support Service, said: "This funding will help break the cycle of unemployment for the most vulnerable in Elmbridge, providing a safe place for young people to learn about being in a work routine."
The Walton Charity is providing £72,000 of funding over the next three years to Elmbridge Youth Support Services (EYSS), following a successful pilot project of the same nature.
Jackie Lodge, chief executive, said: "Walton Charity has developed a good relationship with both the local and Surrey’s Youth Support Services. We are delighted to provide funding to help some of our local young people in this way."
