A couple have been using peddle power for 16 months to push themselves through 25 countries.
Tim Moss, 32, born and raised in West Molesey, and his wife, Laura, 31, left from the Lion's Gates of Hampton Court Palace in August 2013, and are set to return to the exact same spot on Sunday, December 14, to finish their mammoth trip.
Their journey in aid of JDRF diabetes research saw them travel across Europe, the Middle East, south-east Asia, Australia and New Zealand, before crossing the USA. The final miles will be from Heathrow.
Mr Moss said: "The highlight of the trip has easily been the people we have met. In nearly every country we've been through, complete strangers have let us camp in their gardens, brought us food, invited us into their homes and made us feel like part of the family."
What started out as a topic of conversation on the day the couple first got together became a reality as eventually they quit their jobs and fixed a date to leave.
He said: "Our favourite countries have probably been Iran - in the news for all the wrong reasons but where we had the most wonderful welcome, South Korea which has the best cycle lanes in the world and Japan which was just fascinating."
