A new exhibition has been created by young Brownies themselves, to celebrate 100 years of Brownie Guides.

Evocative memories of Brown Owl, proudly pinned badges and the well-known brown sash made up the collaboration between girls from the 2nd Hinchley Wood Unit and Elmbridge Museum.

It features work made by the girls about being in the Brownies today, guiding visitors through the decades of the organisation, from the early days of the movement to modern day.

Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: "The objects on display should bring back many happy memories for people. The Brownies have a very special place in our community and the museum team has greatly enjoyed working with local groups to put together this lovely exhibition to mark their 100th birthday."

During the course of the exhibition, Brownies will host afternoon tea.

It runs from November 25 to March 31, at the Civic Centre, Esher.
