A Walton shopping centre has been handed a second award for its zero waste to landfill campaign.
The Heart, in New Zealand Avenue, was named as one of Britain’s greenest companies and given a green apple environment award for its continual development and improvement of its zero waste to landfill policy.
The shopping centre competed against more than 500 other nominees and was presented with the award at a presentation ceremony at the Crystal in London on June 30.
Mark Middleton, general manager of the Heart, said: "We are thrilled with this award, which comes so soon after winning at the zero waste awards.
"We want to inspire others to think about how they use items and most importantly, how they dispose of them."
Following their success, the Heart will also be considered to represent the county at the European business awards for the environment.
