A taste of Brazil came to Thames Ditton as the summer of football came to a close.

With the start of the World Cup final imminent on Sunday, July 13, parents, children and staff from Thames Ditton Junior School enjoyed a summer fair on Giggs Hill Green.

Gathering on the green in their favourite football kits and homemade carnival masks, children enjoyed music from samba percussion band Bloco Do Sul, who showed what a true Latin American style celebration is like.

Fair attendees also enjoyed giant inflatables, the ever popular sponge the teacher game, splat the rat and a barbecue.

The fair raised £6,000 for the school, bringing the total raised by the Friends of Thames Ditton Junior School to £12,000 this summer.

Money raised will be used towards development of an outdoor classroom area and the introduction of digital learning tablets for classrooms.
