Amended plans for a 1,000 home village in Walton go on display today after residents aired their concerns about the development.

The village, called Drake Park, is proposed for the former quarry land off Fieldcommon Lane and would also contain a primary school, supermarket, medical centre and skate park.

The proposals were unveiled to the public at a series of consultation exhibitions last month and after listening to residents’ feedback, developer Bonnar Allan said they have "made changes" to the plans.

Nigel Rankine, development director at Bonnar Allan, said: "We were delighted that 600 local people attended and many took the time to give us valuable feedback on our initial plans.

"Since then we have been working to update our proposals to reflect the comments and feedback we received from local residents and have incorporated a number of changes."

The second round of public consultation exhibitions take place at Esher Rugby Club, Molesey Road, Walton on Wednesday, July 9 and Thursday, July 10 from 4pm to 8pm.

The revised proposals will also be online from July 9 at drakepark.co.uk
