A hospice has announced its first dragon boat challenge and received some tips from a Great Britain squad member.
Trisha Corless, who is also a member of Wraysbury Dragons, popped down to see staff at Woking and Sam Beare Hospices ahead of the charity water sporting event.
She said: “I am pleased to see the hospices introducing dragon boating to the community.
“When the boat moves through the water, there is a great feeling of unity. At charity events like this it’s a good way to try a different kind of sport.”
Teams will paddle against each other on Sunday, July 6, at Goldsworth Lake in Woking and training will be available on the day.
Rosie Gibbons, fundraising manager for the hospices, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching this unique event to raise money for our hospices.”
