Police were called to a Walton bank after a man reportedly subjected staff to aggressive behaviour.
But the call, which brought three police cars to Santander just before 2pm today, required only diplomacy skills from officers.
One onlooker said he thought a robbery had taken place, after seeing police pull up in the road opposite Walton High Street.
A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to attend an incident involving a breach of the peace at a bank in the High Street.
“A male was reported to be acting aggressively towards members of staff.
“Police attended and dealt with the matter at the scene by calming the situation and offering words of advice.
“No one was harmed and no further action was taken.”
