Man arrested following drugs raid
Police have arrested a 22-year-old man following an early morning drugs raid on a property in Muschamp Road, Carshalton this morning.
Officers forced entry to the front door and seized a quantity of suspected drugs and cash.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs (cannabis) and taken to a South London police station.
The raid was part of Operation Hawk, an MPS wide initiative to tackle local criminals involving local officers acting swiftly to information received from local communities.
According to police, the new emphasis of Operation Hawk this Autumn is tackling street level, drug related crimes.
The officers taking part in the operation were from Sutton's Town Centre Team and three Safer Neighbourhoods Teams - Nonsuch, The Wrythe and Worcester Park.
Detective sergeant Harmeet Archer, who led the operation, said: "Policing always works best when we have the support of local communities. Please tell us if you have any information about any criminal or anti-social activity because we can help make it stop and continue to keep Sutton’s streets amongst the safest in London."
