A child patient was handed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to star in the awe-inspiring Olympic opening ceremony.
Lottie Pink, from East Molesey, took to the stage during the section that celebrated the NHS on July 27.
The 10-year-old was treated for a brain tumour at Great Ormond Street Hospital when she was eight years old and visits the hospital every three months for scans.
She said: “It was absolutely amazing. But I was really nervous because there was so many people.”
He mother Kate said: “We will never repay the debt to them. They saved her life really and she is so proud to represent the hospital at the opening ceremony.”
Jane Collins, chief executive of Great Ormond Street Hospital, thanked Danny Boyle for involving them in the ceremony and said it was an honour to be part of such an event.
