Surrey Comet: Surrey Comet Most Wanted

Police have hailed the Surrey Comet’s Most Wanted a success after information supplied by readers helped officers make arrests.

Following last month’s appeal, three people came forward, including someone who was wanted on suspicion of allegedly defrauding a pensioner for roofing works.

From the first edition of Most Wanted, two people came forward and three came forward after the second week’s appeals.

A police spokesman said: “Most Wanted has proved enormously successful with eight of the 15 people featured either handing themselves in or being arrested thanks to information provided by readers of the Surrey Comet.

“Kingston police will continue to work in partnership with the Surrey Comet to bring those accused to justice.”

A suspected gun-toting assailant, an alleged blue badge con man and a man accused of threatening hospital staff are among this month’s Kingston police’s Most Wanted.

First on the police’s latest wanted list is Payman Hosseni, 24, who is wanted for allegedly hitting a man over the head with a gun.

Police allege he forced his way into a home with several other men wearing masks.

The victim was then assaulted and hit over the head with what he believed to be a MP5 gun.

Police want to speak to Trevor Leroy Holmes about an allegation of harassment.

He allegedly attended a lettings agency in New Malden and abused staff when they told him his deposit would not be returned in cash.

He failed to attend Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court in December 2011. Bilal Iqbal is wanted for allegedly finding a blue disabled badge in the street and keeping it for his own use.

He also failed to attend Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court in October 2011. Anthony Higgins, 40, is accused of using threatening words and behaviour against Kingston Hospital staff after he was taken there by ambulance on December 20.

He failed to show up at court in January 2012.
