The public will get a change to grill the new boss of the Metropolitan Police at an event in Kingston next month.
Bernard Hogan-Howe took over as commissioner after the phone hacking scandal led his predecessor to resign.
Mr Hogan-Howe will answer questions from the public and outline his vision for policing when he comes to Kingston University’s Penrhyn Road campus on Wednesday, February 15, at 7pm.
The former Merseyside chief of police has given interviews about “total policing” with drug clampdowns, swoops on bail absconders, and a crackdown on car-insurance avoiders.
At the end of December Kingston had the equivalent of 295 officers compared to 298 officers in September 2009.
The number of community support officers has reduced from 88 to 69, with a total of 77 special constables volunteering their time to help police the borough.
