The Elmbridge Countryside team have teamed up with the Lower Mole Countryside Management Project to improve local nature reserve Ditton Common.
The large grassland and heathland corridors have been restored by cutting back the scrub and overhanging tree branches, which will benefit the habitat’s many wild plants and insects.
The work has also improved the sight lines for walkers who use the commons.
A spokesman for the Lower Mole Countryside Management Project said considerable work still needed to be done and volunteers would be at the site again.
The next sessions run from Tuesday, September 21, to Thursday, September 23, and again on Sunday, September 26.
The meeting point is at 10am at the Thames Ditton Golf Course in Portsmouth Road.
Anyone interested in taking part should call 01372 743783.
