Estate agents Gascoigne Billinghurst has agreed to be one of the sponsors for the a new clubhouse, planned for Claygate recreation ground.
Gascoigne Billinghurst, which has branches in Claygate, Hinchley Wood and Cobham, will sponsor the main clubroom in the new building, in a deal worth £5,000.
The estate agent’s managing partner Simon Dunand said: “We are delighted to be supporting this very worthwhile and much-needed development in Claygate. We see this as an excellent opportunity to heighten our profile locally and we have a number of plans to link up with the club in a range of different ideas and activities. We hope the club, company and community will benefit significantly.”
The new facility will take between nine months and a year to complete and will replace the existing recreation ground, which is more than 60 years old and in poor condition.
It will house the Claygate Royals FC and Claygate Cricket Club and cost about £275,000 to build.
David Milner, Claygate Cricket Club’s president, said: “This is great news for the clubhouse project and it comes at a critical stage.
“More than £150,000 has been raised in the past few months and the project team is energetically pursuing a number of applications for grants to match the £100,000 already pledged by Elmbridge Council and Claygate Parish Council.”
This is the second commercial sponsorship of the new clubhouse, after Walpole Financial of Surbiton announced earlier this year they would sponsor one of the changing rooms.
To sponsor, call Nigel Abbott on 01372 465350.
