Undeterred by the collapse of New Malden travel company Goldtrail, an Australian budget tour operator has said it is scouring the country for top agents to work at a new call centre in New Malden.
Escape Travel is looking for 16 experienced agents to work in two teams in a call centre due to launch on November 1.
The company is owned Australian outfit Flight Centre, which specialises in budget holiday flights to Australia and Thailand.
Tim Winkworth, brand marketer for Escape Travel, said: “We are scouring the country for knowledgeable agents. Launching Escape Travel is an opportunity for the Flight Centre group to break into the long-haul package market.”
A number of travel agents in south London have posted job advertisements looking to recruit the 20 staff members who lost their jobs with Goldtrail, based in Kingston Road, which went into administration in July.
