Recession-related redundancy from a six-figure job in the city prompted an unusual career move for one Kingston banker – topless modelling.

Henrietta Leung earned £120,000-a-year during nine years at HSBC’s investment banking arm, before moving to Credit Suisse.

After losing her job in 2008 when the credit crunch started to bite, she asked a friend to take some photos, and soon built up a portfolio of "nice and sexy pictures".

The Hong Kong-born 38 year old told The Sun newspaper "I went on one shoot after another and now I have built up a portfolio and done around 30 shoots.

"Despite only being paid for five of those shoots – around £100-a-day – I love the work."

After starting body-building and entering fitness modelling competitions, she was offered a £500-a-day shoot in Los Angeles, but scheduling problems and the Icelandic ash cloud meant opportunities in the States passed her by.
