The Runnymede and Weybridge MP and new Esher and Walton MP Dominic Raab have met with Surrey County Council leader Councillor Andrew Povey to discuss issues facing the county.
They met with four other Surrey MPs at the County Hall in Kingston to hear about how public sector organisations were working together to tackle the national public debt problem, support the south-east economy and strengthen local communities.
At the meeting, Coun Povey said: "This marks the start of a new relationship - with you and the Government.
"We hope to show you just how special Surrey is, demonstrate our commitment to working together to deliver services in new and different ways while delivering maximum value for money and helping to cut the national debt.
"We would like you to be able to use us for reliable and accurate information, for examples of how services can been delivered in innovative ways and to deliver pilots for the new Government."
