Surrey secondary schools outperform national average

Six out of 10 secondary schools in Surrey have been judged by regulators Ofsted to be “outstanding” or “good” - compared with four out 10 nationally.

Councillor Peter Martin, Surrey County Council’s cabinet member for children and learning, said: “We are continuing to set high standards and are out-performing schools nationally.

“Surrey has a lot of high quality schools and it is great news. This shows they are doing a great job of educating nearly 60,000 secondary school children.

“It doesn’t mean we will rest on our laurels. We know there are schools in Surrey that can perform better and we will do everything possible to make sure they do.”
