More than 300 uniformed members of the Horse Rangers Association paraded into the grounds of Hampton Court Palace on February 27 to commemorate the foundation of the original movement 50 years ago.
The procession was accompanied by music from the Horse Rangers’ band and involved 10 of the youth organisation’s horses.
The display culminated with a service in the Chapel Royal of the palace.
The association, which is based at the palace and has more than 400 members, was set up to give children an affordable pathway to learn about riding, horse care and stable management.
Richard Bevan, chairman of the trustees of the Horse Rangers Association, said: “The parade and service are a fantastic way to acknowledge the association’s founding principles of teamwork, loyalty and trust, as well as the hard work and achievements of our members.”
