Facebook party goes wrong for Kingston teenager

A Kingston teenager who advertised a house party at his parents’ £1m home on Facebook, had a visit from unruly youths, then the police.

Aneesh Shukla, a 16-year-old student at the prestigious £7,000-a-term Westminster School, invited friends to a party at his house in Coombe Lane West on January 31.

But neighbours called the police in the early hours of Sunday morning after 200 people turned up, shouting and screaming in the street.

Officers arrived at the five-bedroom detached house at around 12.44am and helped to break up the party, and an ambulance was called to deal with one person left lying on the ground.

A police spokesman said: “This person advertised to people on Facebook and it just got out of hand. One person was taken to hospital as a precaution and released a few hours later. Two males aged 17 and 19 were spoken to but there were no arrests.”

Aneesh’s father Raj owns Analogic Computers, an IT supplier based in Elm Crescent, Kingston, but the family declined to comment on the incident.

Nishi Shukla said: “We have no comment to make whatsoever. The school is dealing with it and we have absolutely no comment whatsoever.”

The police said an investigation into damage caused at the party was continuing, and officers were examining CCTV footage provided by the family.
