Reading, recitals and public speaking at Kingston's Rose Theatre

Hundreds of youngsters from across Kingston will take part in reading, recital and public speaking classes when the first USpeak Festival comes to the Rose Theatre next month.

The brainchild of recent Kingston University graduate Jemima Scarlett, five to 19-year-olds will join the event on Sunday, November 8, and try to use language to inspire, motivate and surprise.

Jemima used her links with Kingston Council, Kingston university and the theatre to secure funding, adjudicators and the venue.

Medals will be awarded for the best junior, intermediate and senior speakers, and the mayor of Kingston and Richmond Park MP Susan Kramer will attend.

Contact Jemima on jemimats@hotmail.com for information.
