Green-fingered students from a Prince’s Trust course at Merton College got out their tools this week to help create a sensory garden for a Worcester Park Primary School.
They contacted Green Lane Primary School after being told to find a worthwhile project in the area and completed their last day today.
The garden, at the back of the playing field, is something the school have wanted for about three years but unable to do due to a lack of funding.
Team leader Darren O’Grady said: "A handful of kids at the school have learning disabilities and they will love the garden.
"We got a lot of the stuff just from telling shops about what we were trying to achieve at the school. They don’t want us to go."
The garden caters for all the senses, with four sections for taste, sight, touch and smell. There is also a musical area with wind chimes and items to make noise, which the team hope will benefit one of the blind pupils at the school.
