Talks on goddesses, climate change and Fairtrade food, are the highlights of a packed programme of events next week as part of the Think in Kingston festival.

The event, organised throughout March by Kingston Council arts office, aims to get the brain cells working with talks, discussions and seminars.

The next seven days has an environmental theme and the week starts on Tuesday, March 10, with a talk by Adrian Atkinson on cities after oil.

The talk takes place at Kingston University’s C-Scaipe department at 7pm and is followed by a talk on Wednesday, March 11, about the economic, environmental and social impact of our diets in an event called Dinner’s Dirty Secrets: Is It Ethical to Eat? at 6.30pm.

Wednesday, March 11, also sees a talk by Bernadette Vallely, co-founder of the London Goddess Temple about pre-Christian goddess faiths.

The evening will start at 7pm at the Lovekyn Chapel, London Road.

The week finishes with Dr Mark Vernon discussing philosophy at the Rose Theatre Circle Bar from 6pm to 7.30pm.

The programme of events continues until March 31.
