A multi-million pound scheme to alleviate flooding in Kingston is moving ahead of schedule.
The flood relief scheme was started in October last year by Thames Water to relieve flooding around London Road and Hawks Road.
The drilling between Hawks Road and London Road has now been completed six weeks ahead of schedule and the two shafts in School Passage and Cambridge Road have also been completed.
The bus lane which had been suspended between Cambridge Road and London Road to help ease congestion has now been reopened.
The scheme in Hawks Road, which has been closed to traffic since January 12, is four weeks ahead of schedule and contractors estimate it will reopen on Monday, March 9.
