A man has been arrested after allegations a Tolworth mother-of-five was assaulted by a worker at Kingston’s Villiers Road tip.

Sally Reason, 42, was allegedly assaulted by a contractor when she went to drop off rubbish with her husband on Thursday, February 5.

A council contractor has been suspended following the allegations and Kingston police have confirmed they have arrested a 20-year-old man from Merton.

He has been bailed to return to the station in March pending further inquiries.

Mrs Reason, a full time mother from Tolworth Rise North, is now recuperating at home after undergoing emergency surgery at St George’s Hospital in Tooting last Thursday.

The surgery, to repair her fractured eye socket, was successful but doctors have told her they are unsure whether her vision will ever fully return.

She said: “I’m not passing out every time I stand up, which is an improvement I suppose, but I have terrible double vision and my face is still worryingly numb.

“I can’t read or drive - I just want things to return to how they were before.”
