Maths fans at Ernest Bevin College triumphed over other local pupils during a maths competition last month.
Year 9 pupils beat competitors from Salesian College in a series of problem-solving contests.
The competition was part of an annual maths fair at Ernest Bevin, which began to specialise in the subject in 2005.
Students were entertained by a maths magician, who demonstrated reading minds and making objects disappear.
There were also maths architects, who showed the boys how to build bridges using sticks and elastic bands, producing a cantilever bridge spread across the hall.
