Kingston Hospital staff received giant birthday cards on Saturday to mark the 70th anniversary of the NHS.
The three birthday cards were signed by more than 100 members of the public at street stalls in New Malden, Surbiton, Richmond and Kingston town centre on the day.
The event was organised by the Richmond Park Labour Party and the Kingston and Surbiton Labour Party.
Liz Meerabeau, a retired nurse and Kingston and Surbiton CLP member, said: “They were really touched when we went up there and that people took the trouble to say thank you to the NHS.
“The NHS represents what is best in our society, and our thanks go out to everyone who works for it.”
