Two Kingston ensembles are set to perform at one of London’s most popular jazz clubs next month.

Kingston Youth Jazz Band will kick off the show during the evening with some “well-known” jazz numbers, followed by the Kingston Youth Big Band.

They will be playing at The Hideaway near Streatham station, an award-winning live music and comedy venue, and this will be the second time they are invited to play.

Councillor Malcolm Self, portfolio holder with the responsibility for music service at Kingston Council, said: “A huge congratulations to both of the bands for being invited back to play at one of London’s most famous jazz clubs.

“Performing on the same stage as some of the most influential names in jazz, blues, soul, and funk music is a huge honour.

“Kingston Music Service has dedicated tutors and offers some fantastic training and opportunities to nurture talent in the borough.”
