The borough’s biggest festival is coming back this year, as the date for Kingston Carnival 2018 has been set.
Thousands of revellers will come to the town on Sunday, September 2, for a day of music, food and other treats.
In 2017, crowds gathered to enjoy shows put on by professional bands and community groups spread across two stages.
A new sound system was also in place in the Apple Market, playing a mix of reggae, soca and other music.
Festivities are likely to kick off at 11am, with the procession beginning at noon from the Guildhall.
Stalls and performances will be open all day in Ancient Market Place, in the High Street, at All Saints Church and in the Rose Theatre.
This is the fourth event since the disappointing 2014 cancellation a month before it was due to take place.
