Cobham performing arts students will take part in a world record-breaking attempt, as they try to put on the largest simultaneous performance of a single show.

Stagecoach Cobham will join with students from nearly 200 other schools around the country to perform Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Junior on July 1.

More than 6,500 children are expected to be involved.

Principal of Stagecoach Cobham Jo Bentley said: “I am so excited to bring this opportunity to the students of Stagecoach Cobham.

“To be attempting to break a record as well as giving the students the experience to perform at the Watford Palace Theatre is something I really wanted to be able to offer them. We will be taking a select number of students up to London and we are already preparing.”

If successful, Stagecoach will be breaking its own record, having performed Glad Rags in 2008.

This time, more than double the number of schools have signed up.
