A bird flu outbreak has been confirmed in Kingston, according to the government's latest report.
H5N6, a “highly pathogenic” strain of the flu, was found in a wild mute swan in the Thames.
It is the sixth confirmed case in the UK since the government’s previous report in January, taking the total to 12 this winter.
Two unspecified birds with the virus have also been found in Surrey since that report was published.
Government experts believe the risk of further outbreaks in the UK remains high, and could spread north as birds migrate in the coming months.
Although the virus is highly infectious and deadly to birds, Public Health England has said it poses no threat to humans.
