A man is still missing after being seen enter the Thames from a boat moored at Hampton Court.
Police were called at about 4.20am on Friday, January 5, to reports of two men in the water.
One of the men was rescued, but the second man could not be found – despite a search that lasted throughout the day.
The search was carried out by a specialist underwater dive team (a fingertip riverbed search and underwater boat hull search), Surrey Search and Rescue (river and bank-side search), the RNLI and Surrey Fire and Rescue (open water search), The Environment Agency (sonar search), police helicopter (area search), Surrey Police and the Metropolitan Police.
Officers from London Ambulance Service also attended, but the man who was rescued did not require medical attention.
The search lasted until 4.30pm, ended until new information comes to light.
Police do not believe the circumstances surrounding the pair entering the water are suspicious.
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference PR/P18003211.
