Kingston Heritage Advent calendar: when the train to London cost 22p
Once a week, we will be taking you back to the 1960s with a dip into Kingston Council's Heritage Advent Calendar.

In 1964 the adult train fare to see the West End Illuminations from Kingston was 4/6 or 4s 6d, which if converted to decimal currency would have been 22 and a half pence (Surrey Comet, 19 December 1964).
