Four men were arrested when a driver rammed a police car after failing to obey orders to stop.

Two knives were found in the vehicle which failed to pull over after police witnessed “erratic” driving.

The incident happened in Chingford Road, Walthamstow, close to Crooked Billet Roundabout at around 12.30pm on Tuesday October 17.

A spokesman for Waltham Forest Police said: “The officers indicated for the vehicle to stop due to its erratic behaviour. The vehicle failed to stop and was lost.

“A second police unit spotted the vehicle stationary.

“On seeing the second vehicle the car collided with the police car.”

There were no reported injuries.

The four men travelling in the car were arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking and driving away (TDA) and possession of an offensive weapon.

Enquiries continue. All four have been released under investigation.
