Enfield Town will face Phoenix Sports in the Emirates FA Cup third qualifying round after they thrashed Hanwell Town 5-0 in a replay last night.

Goals from Drew Roberts, Darren Purse, Montell Moore, Ryan Blake and Ryan Blackman secured the emphatic victory for the Towners, who will take on the Bostik League South Division side next weekend at the QEII Stadium, with the winner progressing through to the final qualifying round.

Following Saturday's goalless draw in west London, it was the Towners who started brightly, with Blake having a great chance to put the home side ahead after nine minutes, only for the striker to put his effort wide of the target after neat build up play.

Enfield came even closer after the 20-minute mark, with Micky Parcell’s back-heel hitting the post and another chance came and went moments later, with Town captain Purse nodding a free-kick from Sam Youngs just wide of the target.

Despite their early dominance, Andy Leese’s men almost fell behind in the 35th minute as Hanwell’s Glen Yala forced a good save from goalkeeper Joe Wright at his near post.

But the Towners’ early dominance was to pay off just before half-time, as they took the lead through Roberts, who fired the ball home on the half-volley following a long ball up field.

Moments after the restart Enfield were handed a great chance to double their lead as they were awarded a penalty, after Hanwell’s Georges Ehui fouled goal-scorer Roberts inside the area. Purse stepped up and made no mistake, as he calmly dispatched the resultant spot-kick to put his side 2-0 up.

Controversy was to follow in the 57th minute though, as Hanwell thought they had pulled one back, as the ball appeared to go over the line after a goalmouth scramble, but the referee remained unmoved.

Enfield continued to press though, and Roberts was presented with another chance in the 75th minute, but having been played in by Jack Higgs, he couldn’t find the target.

But the Towners weren’t finished yet, as a late flurry of goals secured a comfortable victory for Leese’s men.

Enfield notched a third three minutes from time, as substitute Moore bundled the ball over the line following a low cross, and they added another moments later, with Blake presented with a simple tap-in inside the area.

Leese’s side added further gloss to the scoreline deep into stoppage time, with substitute Ryan Blackman adding a fifth to secure a dominant victory for Enfield, who are currently in 15th place in the Bostik Premier Division.

The Towners' next FA Cup opponents needed penalties to get through their second qualifying round replay, beating Glebe 5-4 on spot-kicks after the tie had ended 1-1 following extra-time.

The Towners are back in league action this weekend as they travel to Needham Market on Saturday.
