The Albion in Kingston has been named Summer Pub of the Season by Kingston and Leatherhead Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Members voted for the pub, in Fairfield Road, for changes over the past year, since it was taken over by the people who run the Big Smoke pub in Surbiton, The Antelope.
Clive Taylor, of Kingston CAMRA, said: “The Albion was transformed from a very ordinary pub to a well restored, traditional establishment with a bar serving up to ten real ales, including some from their own Big Smoke Brewery, as well as five ciders and perries. Also available are twenty different keg beers, and if one feels like something to eat the kitchen is very popular for its food.”
Branch members visited The Albion to drink the ales and present the award to general manager Dominic McInnes.
