A Kingston independent school buried a time capsule to communicate with pupils who will be at the school 20 years later.

Surbiton High School, in Surbiton Crescent, put the device underground last Thursday (July 20) which includes a variety of school lists, uniforms, questionnaires and exam papers.

Students at the school in 2037 will also be able to see pictures of the school’s new green and silver duck, which has become a popular symbol of the Green and Silver Club.

It has been hidden under a Green and Silver tree donated by school principal Ann Haydon.

She hopes that those who open it two decades from now “enjoy a real sense of the school as it is today”.

Further details about joining the Green and Silver Club are available from Polly Rumbold.
