A Walton man is due to stand trial next year charged with causing the death of a 13-year-old boy by careless driving of a £1.2 million Ferrari.

Matthew Cobden, 38, of Long Lodge Drive, appeared at Winchester Crown Court today for a hearing at which he pleaded not guilty.

The crash killed Alexander Worth, of Kings Worthy, Hampshire, on August 22 last year.

Cobden was unloading the Ferrari F50 for a photoshoot with Evo supercar magazine in North Warnborough, Hampshire.

It is alleged that when Alexander asked to take a photograph of the car, Cobden offered to take him for a ride.

The car then crashed into fencing, whereupon Alexander was killed and Cobden was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A trial date was set for February 19.
