A 33-year-old woman has been arrested following an immigration raid in Battersea Square.

The woman, from India, was arrested on suspicion of overstaying her visa by immigration enforcement officers at Clothe Kare Dry Cleaning at about 5pm yesterday (July 14).

A spokesperson for Home Office said: “She will now have to report regularly to Immigration Enforcement while her case is progressed.”

The business was served a referral notice warning that a financial penalty of up to £20,000 will be imposed unless the employer can demonstrate that “appropriate right-to-work document checks” were carried out, such as seeing a passport or Home Office document confirming permission to work.
