The Sunday in the Middle of the Wimbledon tennis championships is usually a day of rest for most of those involved but it isn’t for Andrew Castle. The former UK number one is now one of the BBC team of commentators but he is spending that precious Sunday hosting a fun walk and charity family day in Ewell.

The day is raising money for the Orthopaedic Research and Educational Foundation, the charity attached to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre in Epsom which has helped tens of thousands of patients to live a pain-free life.

While the sponsored walk is going on, families can picnic or enjoy the stalls and events, including games and bouncy castles for children. There will also be prizes for the most generations in one family attending.

This is also a chance for patients, their families and friends to say thank you to nurses, surgeons and staff from the hospital.

Everyone is welcome to come along on Sunday, July 9, to Bourne Hall, Spring Street, Ewell between 1 and 4 pm.
