Sir Ian Blair, London's top cop, will give the keynote speech at Kingston Racial Equality Council's (Krec) AGM next week.
The Met Commissioner will discuss "policing diverse communities in the 21st century" on Monday. John Azah, Krec director, said: "I feel honoured that the commissioner agreed to address our AGM in spite of his very busy schedule. Krec has been a critical friend of the Met and has worked relentlessly to ensure that people from all communities are able to engage and work positively with the police."
The meeting is at Christ Church in Coombe Road, New Malden, from 7pm on Monday, July 16. To attend or for details call KREC on 020 8547 2332.
